  • Where Do You Go When You Go To Sleep book cover featuring two children in bed about to go to sleep with a fantastical scene above them

WHERE DO YOU GO, WHEN YOU GO TO SLEEP?

Juvenile, Fiction, Picture Book, Fairy Gothmother Series

Where do YOU go after your parents tell you to “GO TO SLEEP”?

You’re probably familiar with the “Sandman”, perhaps even with Hans Christian Anderson’s vision, where the Sandman carries two umbrellas, one for good dreams and one for no dreams.

I’ve created a book with two story lines. In one direction, children have magical and fantastical dreams.

Flip the book and playful nightmares, like “lava sharks” swimming under your bed come to life.

Children chose which story to read first and are invited to write down a bad dream, place it in a box and recite a rhyme, banishing scary dreams.

Bonus material: DIY Bad Dream Box and Dream Journal

  • MARY AND HER MARVELOUS FLOWERS: The Queen of Collage

    Juvenile, Non-Fiction, Biography, Picture Book

Mary Delany (1700-1788) a member of the Blue Stocking Society, created the first ever ‘paper-mosaick’ flowers at age 72.

For the next ten years, she went on to produce a series of 985 extraordinary floral collages so detailed they look like photographs (which didn’t exist at the time).

Along the way, she made friends with botanists, royalty and explorers that collected plants from all over the world for Kew gardens, giving her unprecedented access to flowers to imitate and “collect” on paper to be shared, much like botanical drawings or dried, pressed flowers, but in 3D and vibrant color!

Her 10 volumes are housed in the collection of the British Museum.
