I was watching an old interview of Ray Bradbury, one of my favorite writers, and he mentioned one of his favorite writers, Loren Eiseley. Of course, I had to run to the library and gather up his works.

The man was multi-talented. An anthropologist and professor at the University of Penn, he was also a prolific writer.

I highly recommend his book of poems, Notes from an Alchemist. Check out the poem, The Face of the Lion. It punches you in the heart guts. In a beautiful way, of course.

The library’s copy is a first edition. Wish I could keep it!
