I started my middle grade, THE LAST MONSTER, with “What If?” What if DNA was discovered in 1880’s England? What if that scientist was the only one who knew how to unlock its secrets and he created marvelous beasts for a private zoo?
He’d be rich, powerful and the target of unscrupulous men. So would his daughter.
